Mr. Max - Art & Music
Max is a passionate artist, musician, and teacher based in Washington DC. Max graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in sculpture, and has spent a lifetime studying drawing and painting starting with private lessons when he was 7. Max has lived on several continents and is continually inspired by the art and music from cultures all over the world, which is a central part of his teaching philosophy. Through both his private and group lessons his primary goal is always first and foremost to engender a strong and meaningful love of the arts from a very young age, and expose his students to cultural traditions from around the globe. Teaching alongside his brother, Sam Levine, he is thrilled to be a part of little Ivies!
Mr. Sam- Art & Music
Sam has been a musician since he could hold a bow, starting classical cello at age 5. Since then he has mastered the electric and upright bass, and guitar, builds his own synthesizers, and is a student of the piano. Sam graduated from Brown University with a compositional degree in electronic music. Since graduating, Sam runs his own successful business teaching private lessons to students of a variety of ages in cello, guitar and piano. Sam has performed extensively in both jazz and classical contexts, and is first and foremost passionate about helping his students to learn to love music. He works hard to help them find their own unique voice, and expose them to as much music from around the world and from a variety of historical contexts as possible! Teaching alongside his brother Max, he is excited to expose young minds to all sorts of music and cultures, and to pass on his love for song!
